Batman Issue 4
Just finished #3 and I am so blown away by the quality of these comics! The Court of Owls is chilling. The writing, the art, all of it is just right. Snyder knows how to handle everything from Batcave tech to the wisdom of Alfred Pennyworth. Can’t wait for #4.

Flash #1
I’m excited to get to know the world of Barry Allen. I admit that I know very little about The Flash, and this seems like a pretty good place to get started. The writing felt strong, and the art was great. Nice cliffhanger at the end. I’ll definitely be keeping up with Flash (figuratively speaking, of course).
Batman #1
This was worth the wait! Molto bene!
However, I think I may have already figured out the mystery introduced on the last page. If so, I’ll be disappointed by the predictability. I’d love to tell you what my theory is, but it would be a major spoiler. Of course, if I’m right, I’d love to say I told you so. I’ll have to think about it.

So, when I bought Detective Comics #1 (of the New 52), the guy at the register says, “Joker does the second most psychotic thing I’ve ever seen him do in this issue.” I felt this may have been an exaggeration. I was wrong. Aside from shooting Barbara Gordon in the stomach while dressed for the beach, this was the most psychotic, disgusting, horrifying thing I’ve ever seen the Clown Prince of Crime do. A great, albeit disturbing, start for Detective Comics.
By the way, I don’t like the above artwork. Batman looks very misshapen.
